Meet Sneakers, a girl whose story and sweet temperament will tug at your heartstrings. Her story goes like this:
EGRR got a call from someone needing to surrender a Golden that had been mistreated and had been living under a car at the owner’s house. Apparently, the owner’s grandson had kicked and abused her, so to protect her, the owner left her outside, away from the grandson. A county worker patrolling the neighborhood took the dog and brought her to the neighborhood “dog rescuer”, who took her to the vet and, ultimately, brought her to us because she couldn’t keep her.
Sneakers is a mix, but EGRR couldn’t turn her away because of her history of abuse. We felt she needed (and deserved) a new start in life. We knew that one of our amazing volunteers, members or adopters would find it in their heart to help her.
Sneakers is truly a sweetheart! She loves attention and belly rubs. She’s thin, about 40 lbs. and she is housebroken and is heartworm negative. She’s up-to-date on shots and is spayed. Our vet at Clint Moore is going to remove a growth on her side, cut her terribly long nails and clean her teeth. Then, she’ll be ready to go to her forever home.
