Prince, now known as Logan, is doing fantastic. He’s met several dogs in the neighborhood who we meet on our walks, and he’s gotten along with all of them, male and female alike. He is such a sweet boy and has a great disposition.
He seems to be settling in and more comfortable here with each passing day. Maybe once he’s been here 2 weeks he will realize this is his HOME now! He and Cali are getting along fine. As a matter of fact, she was lying in the hall the other night, I was already in bed watching TV, lights off, and he was on his bed asleep. She was asleep & started dreaming and making a whimpering noise really loud, and it woke him up, and he got up off the bed and walked into the hall to see what was the matter with her. I thought that was sweet! He wanted to make sure she was ok. They are also really protective and go to the window and bark if they see other dogs, etc. go by. They’re both great watch dogs!
I do plan to attend the expo. I will definitely line someone up to help me with the two of them. It will be a fun time for sure.

To title, you need to “Q” 3 times by two different judges in each area. NA is Novice Standard which is a typical agility run using most of the equipment.
NF is Novice FAST which is called Five and Send Time (I think). You make up your own course from what the judge laid out, each piece if equipment being a certain point amount. There is also an area which you have to control your dog or “send” them over two or three items, staying at least 5-10 feet away (marked on the course), if you succeed you get a 20 point bonus amount of points. All total, Novice FAST needs to get 50 points.
She knocked a bar (mom’s fault) in Jumpers and weaves so didn’t “Q” there… but that’s okay. We had fun anyway…
Amy and the family would like to say Happy Valentine’s Day. We are happy to have her home with us and enjoying the holidays together. Amy is very spoiled and loves lying on the couch with us while we watch movies. She enjoys long walks around the neighborhood and playing in the backyard. Amy shows us endless amounts of affection with kisses and hugs all day long. She LOVES to have her hair brushed and gets extemely excited when she sees that we have the brush in our hands, she lays down, ready for us to groom her…. She is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
Great news about Grady! Today Grady passed the Therapy Obedience Professional Test to become a therapy dog like his big brother Plato! Hooray for Grady!
Remarkably, today is the one year anniversary of the day Becky passed the same test. (It was Valentine’s Day, the second Saturday in February.) So another small miracle. We are so proud of Grady!

Dear EGRR,
Happy New Year to all of us recued pet owners. I know its going to be a great new year for our family, thanks to our adopted golden Marley. Everyone should adopt a golden like we did!!!! Marley is the kindest, sweetest, most well behaved ,well adjusted, spoiled dog on the planet, and we are the most spoiled parents. Its only been eight months, but we still thank G-d everyday that we adopted each other!
Thanks again,
Mrs. EF

Hi Marlene,
Murphy and I wish you and everyone at EGRR a Happy New Year! Murphy has been quite busy this year. We moved back into my home in east Delray Beach since my father passed away. He loves being at his new home considering he has lots of new friends here in the community. His best friends are Ellis, the Weimaraner and Buckley, the Great Dane who lives next door.
Last spring, his brother Astor, an 18 year old rescue kitty was allegedly attacked by a neighbor’s Chow and disappeared for almost 6 weeks. Thanks to Murphy and a neighbor’s Jack Russell, Bill, they found him 100 yards from the house. Astor had lost half of his body weight and had days left to live. Murphy was by his side throughout his recovery and keeps a close watch on him now! What a hero!
A few months ago we took a wonderful trip down to the keys and he swam and swam and swam! He also made friends at the restaurant next to our hotel (The Lookout Lodge…dog friendly), Mile Marker 88, where he enjoyed Doggy ice cream and biscuits. He loved it!
Murphy spent a wonderful 2nd Christmas with us and he is the love of our lives. We couldn’t be luckier!
All the best!
Kind regards,
Stephanie W
Dear Jane,
It is exactly one year since we adopted Mr. Floyd… he’s a real gem and we truly thank you for everything you do each day for all the Floyd’s of South Florida. That was a wonderful video, thank you for sharing it with me. Definitely a tear jerker. [To see this video, click here]
I feel the same way, wondering if Floyd would ever wag his tail… now he does and he’s a happy, sweet boy. We are lucky to have him as part of our family. Have a wonderful day and better 2010!
Warm regards… MB
It was the week before Christmas, when we received an emergency phone call about a young Golden stray in Miami and immediately sent a volunteer to pick him up. As soon as our volunteer saw Noel, he knew that he was not a Golden, but because it was almost Christmas, he just couldn’t bear the thought of this boy possibly ending up in a shelter, so he brought him north to Clint Moore. Of course, by now you know how he got his new name! We put out calls to all the Lab rescue groups in the area, but got no reponses, so we assumed responsiblity for this beautiful boy.
Our Intake Coordinator regularly checks the Lost & Found ads in the local newspaper, looking for found Goldens, with the idea that if the owners don’t show up, EGRR can rescue these dogs. This time, instead of a found Golden ad, she saw a lost Lab ad! Lo and behold, a phone call revealed that this was Noel’s family. He had gotten out of the yard when the gardener left the gate open. Since it was Sunday night, they had to wait until the next day to get their boy home. Here he is with his “mom” who generously gave us a donation for returning her “Scout”. What a wonderful Christmas present for Scout and his family!
Hi there Hermine and Happy Holidays! I am happy to report that Fluffy (now named Kairos, which is Greek for “Quality Time”) has been living with me in Jupiter for just over 8 months now, and we are doing fantastic! She is full of life, and full of energy. She absolutely loves trips to the lake house and to the beach, goes with me to work sometimes, and has tons of fun with my families Golden Retrievers when we all get together at the lake house. She also gets along great with my mother’s puppies Mulligan (a 10lb Pomeranian), and Mollie (a 4lb Maltese), and my friends dog Bailey (a 6lb Maltepoo). Has a fantastic time with another friends dog Tug (a 40lb mutt), and a Golden Retriever in my neighborhood named Cody. Kairos and Cody LOVE playing tug-of-war, and going swimming together in the pool.
