Hi Jane!
The signed adoption form is on the way. With the holiday, you should get it by Wednesday.
We are so very happy to have found Shyann through your organization! She is a sweet lady and we already love her so much in the short time we’ve had her. She has adjusted well so far and gets along with our other darling girl, Sunshine, it’s like they’ve know each other all their lives. She knows her basic commands and has already begun to learn new commands; the most important ones are “stay” and “wait.” She seems happy, her tail always wagging, and always smiling her “golden” smile. Shyann believes she’s a lap dog and can hardly wait for an invitation to join me on the couch.
Thanks so very much to you, Hermine, and Ellen (and all the others) for all your care and hard work you put in to EGRR. What you do is truly selfless! I have enclosed a picture for you as promised…do you know how difficult it is to try and get a photo of two active dogs together? Wow! I will send more when I can get them to sit still together haha.
Regards,
Meg
We adopted Jackson, a 6 year old foster / rescue golden, from EGRR (EGRR #381) in mid-April of this year. He quickly took to our home like he had been here forever. We renamed him Jaxson and has since made himself at home. He has become great friends with his 1 year old golden sister, Riley. They love to swim in the pool. They love going on the boat and exploring the spoil islands with us. Jaxson is obsessed with tennis balls and we’ve had to slowly “wean” him off playing with them as much as he would like. More importantly, he has become part of our family. He has such a sweet disposition and a laid back attitude. He gets along with every dog and every person he meets. We are so thankful and grateful that we found him and that he, in turn, found us. Thank you for the opportunity to have him. Attached are some pics of Jaxson, please let me know if they don’t come through. Also, if you post this, please send me a notice so I will know you did.
Thank you!
Gabriel, Debbie, Jenna, Lauren and Riley H
Expo 2010 Is History!!!

It is hard to believe that after all the planning, Expo has come and gone! The weather was just perfect, the raffle table was beautiful, and the demos were fun. We honored all our foster families, two special volunteers, Dave Hendrix and the Graf Family, and all the dogs who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge, but the highlight was the Parade of Rescues. There were beautiful Goldens, in every size, shape and color; young ones, old ones, fat ones, skinny ones, red ones, and almost white ones. There were several photographers working the event and some of the pictures are now available for viewing. What you see here is a mere sample of what was taken. To see more, click on pictures and more pictures. If you recognize your dog or someone else’s, please identify them with a comment. EGRR would also like to extend their since thanks to everyone who donated time, raffle items, and anything else to help make our Expo a success. To view this list of donors, click on Thank You.

Hi Jane,
Wanted to send you a quick update on DUG….well, I think the pictures speak for themselves ha-ha. He’s a wonderful boy, he met his new vet Dr. Fanning who really likes him (she’s partial to goldens). We did discover he is thunderphobic, so although the vet gave me some medication she also suggested desensitization with a thunderstorm cd which I have and we are going to work on. I have been looking online for other alternatives as well. I know you had mentioned getting a thundershirt for your dog. Have you gotten it and if so are you finding that it works? DUG and I normally walk twice a day for a total of about 4 miles so I’m hoping to lose some weight myself! The neighbor’s cat has really warmed up to him and even took over his dog bed the other night for about a half hour so DUG graciously laid down on the floor beside the bed. Our cat accepts him but is still a little leery but I’m sure eventually she’ll come around. He has been sleeping with me in my bed at night. How could I resist? He’s very much the gentlemen allowing me to get in bed first and get all situated then waiting to be invited up. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to foster DUG to see what a wonderful boy he is, we just love him!
I’ll keep in touch,
Stefanie C
Hi Jane,
You know I was just thinking of you recently and was going to send you an email! I saw we made the newletter again. I told Logan and Cali they are going to start having to give autographs!
Logan is looking more and more amazing every day. As a matter of fact, I had blood work done last week, Dr. Herrington is convince he has inhalant allergies, so we had him tested and we are awaiting the results. He feels if we start him on allergy shots we can get him off the steroids. He said he will show me how to administer them. I should hear from him by tomorrow to see what he’s allergic too.
I still have him on a LID diet (limited ingredient - single protein, single carb) - salmon & sweet potato, which he wants him to stay on. He also gets 12 pumps of wild alaskan salmon oil a day on his dinner. I also have him on the enzymes.
He is so funny, Jane. He got so many baths while at Clint Moore (according to April) that he got used to the dryer and must have really grown to like it. So whenever I turn on the hair dryer he runs in the bathroom and I have to give him a quick “blow ” then he leaves. It’s really cute. He also loves chasing lizards on my patio and has even wreaked havoc a couple times. I’ve had to make a trip to Home Depot to replace a few broken pots (big, clay pots). He’s like a bull in a china shop when chasing lizards. Still can’t get enough hugs and kisses. Cali and I love him more and more each day.
So how are you doing? Hope all is well. I’ll let you know the results of the allergy testing when I receive them.
Susan
Hi Jane, I’m sending this from the new email. The boys are great. We went boating yesterday, the first time in months. They were so happy. Harley and Tony have turned into total lovers. Harley still humps. Especially when he is very happy - like going boating. He is way more friendly, happy and trusting. He now loves the dog walks and even trots. His weight is lower and he looks and acts great. All 3 of the boys get along no fights.
Tank was a real problem, but I didn’t want to tell you. We believe that his previous owners severley beat and abused him. He was so fearfull of being kicked - if you got near him he would snap at you. We think that he was tied up and starved, and beaten…. He is much happier now. He is slowly learning to trust us more. He goes on a special walk with me at night, and goes roller blading with Eldon. I can now kiss him without fear. He is very smart, and reminds me alot of Jake. Someday he will be great. He is just learning to be happy and not afraid. He loves to swim and be out by the dock. We totally love him.
Harley is so funny, he loves to be outside only if it is cool or if the dolphins are around. If it is hot he is an airconditioning boy. He also loves to ride in the back seat of my VW “Beetle” He is just the cutist.
Best,
Chris

Prince, now known as Logan, is doing fantastic. He’s met several dogs in the neighborhood who we meet on our walks, and he’s gotten along with all of them, male and female alike. He is such a sweet boy and has a great disposition.
He seems to be settling in and more comfortable here with each passing day. Maybe once he’s been here 2 weeks he will realize this is his HOME now! He and Cali are getting along fine. As a matter of fact, she was lying in the hall the other night, I was already in bed watching TV, lights off, and he was on his bed asleep. She was asleep & started dreaming and making a whimpering noise really loud, and it woke him up, and he got up off the bed and walked into the hall to see what was the matter with her. I thought that was sweet! He wanted to make sure she was ok. They are also really protective and go to the window and bark if they see other dogs, etc. go by. They’re both great watch dogs!
I do plan to attend the expo. I will definitely line someone up to help me with the two of them. It will be a fun time for sure.
