Please help my brother Prince!

My name is Duke and I am a 5½ year old Golden Retriever. I have a wonderful brother named Prince who is about 8 years old. Prince and I have always lived together. Our "Grandpa" turned us in to the Shelter because our "Mom" had moved away leaving us to live with him, but he just couldn't take care of us. EGRR came to get us, and put us in the best foster home in the whole wide world. We were nicknamed the "Royal Brothers" and before long a family came along to adopt us. Our future was looking bright, but now our story gets sad.

The day before our new family was coming to get us, my brother got the results of his latest blood tests. You see, his liver enzymes were elevated, so he was taking special medicine to help get them back to normal. The vet told EGRR that the medicine was making him feel better, but he really wasn't getting better. She ran some more expensive tests, including an ultrasound and then a biopsy. I was so nervous when he was at the vet's office! Then we got the news – Prince has 3 large masses inside him – one on his liver, one on his spleen, and another one that is attached, but we don't know exactly where. The one on his liver is malignant, and I know that means something really bad, because our foster mom cried when she heard the news.

EGRR and our foster mom have made a decision: They are keeping us together no matter what! I told you we had the best foster mom in the whole world. She is going to keep us and take care of us until Prince makes his journey to the Rainbow Bridge. Prince is going to need to stay on his expensive medicine, which makes him feel better, even if it isn't going to cure him. It will let him live longer so that we can continue to play together, sleep next to each other, and kiss each other every single day. I'm so glad everybody made this decision, because I don't know what I am going to do without my brother when he goes to the Bridge. At least I know I will be staying in my home which is now my "forever" home.

Here's how you can help: As Duke has already told you, Prince's medicine is expensive, so we are looking for sponsors to help pay for it. We have already gotten one sponsor but that is not enough since we really don't know how much longer he will live.

If you would like to be one of Prince's sponsors, please call the Hotline (954)748–3507 Option #3, and someone will return your call. Or, you can mail your donation to:
