My name is Angel and that describes me perfectly! I am a very sweet girl and I’m about 7 years old. I have quite a sad story to tell, but I know my future is going to be a lot brighter because of the kind people at EGRR who rescued me from an awful situation.
I was owned by an older woman who passed away. I lived in a home that was in extreme disrepair and should be condemned: The roof leaks, there’s water all over the floor and lots of mold everywhere. I was “adopted” by her tenant, who decided to take care of me. Unfortunately, this person turned out to be a drug addict who did okay for a short time when she came out of rehab, but recently succumbed to her addiction and wasn’t able to care for me at all.
I am grossly overweight (20+ pounds) and have great difficulty walking. In fact, right now, I’m not walking at all because of all the extra weight and lack of exercise. I wasn’t taken outside and had to lay in my own pee and poop. How sad and embarrassing, but I couldn’t help it.
Luckily, the drug addicted person had a sister who cared. She even took me to a vet who gave me some medication to help me feel better. She posted my story on Facebook and asked for help. That’s where EGRR came in. They took me right up to their vet, where I’ll be getting the care I need.
Angel just came in yesterday, so we’re waiting for test results to know more about her condition. We feel strongly, once she loses some weight and gets on the proper regimen, that she’ll be walking again. We’ll do everything we can to make that happen for her. She is one of the sweetest dogs we’ve ever seen and she will definitely make a wonderful companion for whoever adopts her. Check back here for updates as to her condition.
