Chanel is a beautiful 4-year-old Golden Retriever girl who only wants to give love and to be loved by her humans. She is well-behaved but would rather be loved than to work at her obedience lessons!

Chanel’s background is so sad: When asked where she got Chanel from, her previous owner said, “I bought IT from a neighbor”. She had her for 4 years and could only answer, “I don’t know” to many of the questions on our survey. She was not socialized nor given the daily experiences that enrich a dog’s life. So sad for such a beautiful, loving girl! And, unfortunately, as a result of her not being socialized and exposed to everyday experiences, she is not good with other dogs and should be the only dog in the house. However, what she lacks in social ability with other dogs, she more than makes up for with the love she gives to people!

She adores her leash and wants it with her at all times, including in her crate. She carries it with her as if it were her security blanket! She has very nice manners, doesn’t beg and walks well on her leash. She doesn’t even chase ducks or the neighborhood cat, but she really wants to meet the squirrels and lizards! She is healthy, up-to-date on vaccines and is housetrained.

Like many Goldens, she is a sloppy drinker but has good manners when she eats. She loves to eat in her “room” (her crate) and often goes in it just to take a nap. When the crate is closed at night, she goes willingly with no whining or barking. She’s also a good watchdog.

She is not a good candidate for a dog park (which is true for many dogs) and would prefer playing in her own yard and going on walks with her family.
