Meet Dazy! She is an 8 ½ month old girl, who was living in the wrong home. Dazy’s family had always owned 2 dogs, and when their last golden went to the Bridge they purchased Dazy to be a companion for their 11 year old English cocker spaniel. It was not a match made in heaven! In addition to that, her owners were senior citizens, not the right home for a rambunctious Golden puppy.
When Mom broke her arm, tripping over her, they sent Dazy to “boot camp” with the hopes of training her so that she could live comfortably in this inappropriate environment. Boot camp training is wrong for a sweet natured Golden puppy. Obedience training with someone who only uses positive reinforcement is definitely the way to go.
After much soul searching, her owners decided to surrender her to EGRR. She is currently in the kennel at Clint Moore, a place where she is very comfortable because she attended day care there on a regular basis. Dazy was also a patient at Clint Moore and has extensive medical records to show that she was well cared for.
The kennel manager says that Dazy is doing great. She interacts positively with the other dogs and has shown no aggression at all.
Now the time has come to find Dazy an appropriate home. Although she gets along well with all the dogs at daycare, since she had issues with the other dog in her home, we would like her to be an only dog. She requires a fenced yard, and would love a swimming pool. All children in the home must be 5 or older.
