Meet Ziggy! He is a gorgeous 6 month old boy, who came to us because his owner had to move and couldn’t take all his dogs with him. (His owner actually owned the litter of pups that we placed a few weeks ago, as well as “mama dog” Hottie).
Ziggy had very little human socialization, because of his home situation, although he was fully socialized with dogs. When was brought to Clint Moore by one of our volunteers, he was so terrified, he had to be carried into the clinic. A vet exam revealed that except for fleas, he was totally healthy. One “Capstar” and the fleas were gone! The vet techs fell in love with him and everyone spent time playing with him. One even taught him to walk on a leash. Although he is still a bit timid that will change once he feels comfortable in the right home.
He is now ready to find his “furever” home. As with all puppies, he needs a fenced yard, and will have to attend an obedience class. He is too young to be neutered, since the latest veterinary advice is to keep him intact until he is a year old. Children in the home must be 5 years or older, since puppies are very rambunctious.
